What is a fat quarter?

A fat quarter is half a metre by half the width of the fabric. It equals to a quarter metre.

Why do you sell by fat quarter?

We believe that sewists should have the opportunity to purchase small amounts of fabric. Fat quarters allow you to purchase more designs, without having to purchase a lot of quantity. Chances are sometimes you only need a small amount to complete a project and fat quarters are an ideal size

I need half a metre, how much do I buy?

If you'd like half a metre from any of our bolts, you can purchase 2 x fat quarters to get half a metre. This will be cut as one continuous length.

What happens if I buy 3 fat quarters?

If you purchase any odd number of fat quarters, the last fat quarter will be cut as a long quarter. That is 25cm cut across the full width of the fabric.

I need a metre, how many fat quarters do I need to purchase?

If you purchase 4 x fat quarters, it will be cut as a continuous length of one metre x total width of fabric.

Where are you based?

We are based in Middlesex, UK.

Do you have everything in stock?

All our fabric and other items are in stock. All 'coming soon' items are available for pre-order and will be due in, usually in a few weeks.

We do our best to keep all our stock updated but due to custom-cuts there may be discrepancies at the end of the bolt, which may not reflect the quantity or size listed. We will let you know if there are any issues before your order is processed.

Can I get samples of some designs?

To make it easier for you, we have samples available to purchase in the shop. You can add them to your order.

Are you fabrics cut exactly to measurements?

We try our best to cut fabrics to exact measurements but sometimes this can be difficult. All sizes stated are approximate and we cannot guarantee measurements but we do our best to cut at least the minimum length required.  

Also please bare in mind that different batches may have discrepancies in lengths and widths due to the nature of the manufacturing process. 

I'd like to order a large quantity of fabric, do you have a bulk price?
